The Familiars were formed in late 2010 by friends Nick and Steve when they asked John to join them. In April 2013 Joseph joined the band , and in the Summer Rob joined us as drummer to complete our current lineup.

 

Based in and around Cambridge the band steadily built up their repertoire through regular rehearsals at Cottenham Baptist Church and more recently at Rob's studio in Cambridge. Mainly a covers band they are also include half a dozen self-penned songs to the playlist, and this is slowly growing. The current repertoire includes rock/pop songs from the 1960s to the current day, as well as a small collection of quality jazz standards (if required for special occasions such as during the wedding feast). The Familiars choose songs that they believe will be audience pleasers, and they are not chosen simply because they please the band.

 

The Familiars have now begun playing in pubs and bars in the area, and have also performed at various charity events and at a corporate dinner dance. Now that Joseph and Rob have slotted successfully into the band and the repertoire comfortably stretches to two 1 hour sets, they are now looking for more gigs on the local pub scene.

 

The Familiars are available for pub and club gigs, weddings and parties.
